MY STORY

I grew up loving everything creative. I was always picking up cameras, fabrics, tools and wood to see what I could make. Studying Geography with Business at University helped me to identify my long term ambition to pursue a creative career. In the meantime I was still trying my hand at lots of different creative things, supporting myself by working minimum wage jobs in factories and doing removals in order to try and fund my many projects but without a clear direction to follow.

Moving to Cornwall post lockdown simultaneously brought me so much joy and creative inspiration while ultimately showing me that I needed some mentoring/training to move in the direction I wanted to go. The job I was doing, whilst fantastic, wasn't quite the end goal and wasn't moving me towards it so I decided to start looking into creative courses in order to begin specialising in a creative field. I had been following Waters and Acland on Instagram for about 8 years and amazingly was able to start almost immediately.

I have currently completed 2 terms of the course, in which I have learnt a huge amount! I am now making furniture at an independent workshop for a term before commencing my third and final term in April.

I am making bespoke furniture as well as other smaller items to widen my experience and hone particular skills. I am hoping to find work in the South West after I finish the course.
